The end of the first week
So, it´s the end of week number one for us all in Gandia, and I think everyone is pretty happy with how things have been! We´ve all had experience of teaching different age groups and different levels and we can now say that we have taught some proper classes.
In one of my first lessons I chose to use the game we were shown during our training in Kent, which paid off pretty well. I honestly don´t think the pupils here have ever played a game inside the classroom 😂 so they seemed to enjoy it.
A lot of the lessons here are very much textbook based and quite dull from what I have seen, so i think the new ideas we bring into the classroom is a welcome change for the students. It has been quite confusing to plan lessons as the students are mixed levels inside the class, and mixed ages.
You need to be sure to ask for all the information you need, such as what is the syllabus, what level are the students etc because it is not provided for you upfront! This is especially true if you are teaching secondary pupils, for the primary pupils the classes are obviously easier.
Still, the positive thing to take away from this is that the lesson can be adapated, and it´s something that could happen anywhere, you just have to take it as it comes 😀
Still loving it, still very grateful I can do this, and its great experience!
I stayed over at Hannah and Amy´s casa, and they were lovely hosts, so thank you very much for that 💖 wasn´t expecting to find a lizard inside but it gave us all something to write about, no?
