Some little moments

It's been an up and down week.

My mentor, along with the other main English teacher, has gone to Romania with some students as part of an Erasmus exchange programme... and I am taking her classes for the week...but the uncertainty and lack of communication around this in terms of curriculum and substitute plans, means that I've had a fairly anxiety inducing week in all honestly. However, I am making it through and feeling a bit better now. Despite the chaos at the school I have had some nice moments, including:

-Observing a Bachillerato English class last Friday (was determined to catch one before the teacher left for Romania so very glad I did), and I really liked it😊 they are preparing for their final exams at the moment.

-Joining in with a Spanish literature class, after I was talking with the literature teacher and she mentioned they were studying La Casa de Bernarda Alba - which happens to be the book we studied on my Spanish A Level, so she invited me😁 it was so cool to hear her talking the students through the themes of the book, as a lot of the interpretations I hadn't heard before so it was very insightful.

-Some fun lessons with my first graders about food. We watched Jamie Oliver's 3 minute recipes and answered questions about it, and played charades today to revise their sport vocabulary. The first graders are absolutely crazy but they always brighten my day.

On friday I'm going to play the Hot Seat game with both grades to revise their vocab modules, ready for my mentor to test them on Monday.

Some other nice things:

A little drawing of my name that one of my first graders made me🥲

A cheeky drink with da bois

This tiny butterfly landing on Lily

A couple of my favourite examples my third grade students' work today in their fashion vocab lesson.
Please note 'fish high heels'. When I asked if the fish were alive inside the shoes they said yes. My first thought was that's so cool shortly followed by not for the fish though.

Which reminds me: I am ready to take the life of the next person who gives me fish as the veggie option. The other day one waiter looked me dead in the eyes and said, 'vegetarians + vegans eat tuna here.' Ok sir???
I won't actually kill anyone though because I don't think homicide would be very vegan of me.

A park that's become one of my favourite places in León. The grass is soft and there are lots of daisies and trees (which provide a much needed hiding place from the sun, and people ((unless Lily and Lydia spot me as they walk past and shout at me through the hedge😳💗hehe))

A bee came and sat with (on) me yesterday. I was very honoured that the bee chose to spend her afternoon with me but I didn't really want her sat on my foot and I wasn't planning to stay long. Alas she refused to move even though I asked nicely.

Guess I'm at one with nature what can I say???

Just generally León being beautiful🏰

Dat's all folks 🐙thanks for reading this far if you did hehe
I hope you're all having a wonderful time!! Lots of love to everyone 💗xxx
